FREELANCE EDITORIAL ASSISTANT INTERNSHIP: FULL DETAILS
You will be working on a freelance basis, Monday to Friday, remotely from your home in Poland, connecting to the Global Listings systems via a secure VPN line. We will provide you with full training.
Global Listings’ London headquarters are at:
11th Floor, 15 St Botolph Street, London EC3N 7BB
Currently the company as a whole is working from home (i.e. all employees).
You will need a reliable and fast wi-fi connection at home and also a telephone number (your mobile would be fine). As a company we predominantly use Zoom, Skype, Slack and WhatsApp for day-to-day communications.

Overview
This job requires all-round editorial skills in English (mainly) and also in Polish including: writing, sub-editing and proofreading. Accuracy of copy is critical, as is the ability to multi-task and deliver to strict deadlines.
You must be able to work as a team player as well as autonomously.
The position offers the chance to learn all aspects of TV listings worldwide, while taking on real responsibility for key, major brand TV channel accounts with high-profile broadcasting networks.
Purpose of the Job
To work across all editorial sections and have ownership of specified TV accounts. This means that you will have TV channels that will be your sole responsibility to service whilst also assisting the wider team in meeting editorial requirements and deadlines.
This role would involve writing about programmes (subject to a writing assessment in English and Polish), editing and proofreading copy (subject to an assessment in English and Polish), compiling press schedules and EPGs as well as more extended TV highlights (in English and Polish as well as other languages), plus desktop publishing (so there could be an element of graphic design / layout to the job).
In addition you will be liaising on a daily basis with TV channels and TV platforms such as Sky, as well as our worldwide linguistic international teams, plus Polish specific TV channels and offices, so excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are a must.
You will also take the lead in read-back accuracy checks as well as the distribution process, and assist with other processing / administration duties as and when required.
Specific to this role will also be editorial and production tasks including research and account handling of translation requests for Global Fashion Translations (our sister company: www.globalfashiontranslations.info), plus you will have key responsibility for the compilation and inputting of new translator recruits for our other sister company, Global Translations: www.globaltranslations.info

- Post-Internship Prospects
At the end of your 24-month internship, and subject to your performance and the company’s business requirements, you will most likely be offered a promotion to Junior Sub-Editor and an increase in your salary to:
PLN 5,000 per month
